summary: PuTTY should support the full telnet: URL syntax
class: bug: This is clearly an actual problem we want fixed.
difficulty: fun: Just needs tuits, and not many of them.
priority: historic: This is an old bug report that we think is either fixed without noticing, or confined to old systems, or too vague.
present-in: 0.53b 2002-12-19

The telnet: URL scheme allows for specifying a password to log in with. PuTTY doesn't currently support this. PuTTY should at least be capable of ignoring it if it's present.

Patch (unreviewed, Unix only): 20040215182103.GA3208@impropriety.org.uk

SGT, 2024-11-17: classifying this bug as historic. Telnet is old-fashioned now, so this is probably no longer important.
